He went through his life inside of a bubble
Made from their love, their concern, their care
Threatening to smother him, to steal his air.
The other children got to run and play
To stay outside and enjoy the day
And sometimes in summer on into the night
They were allowed to run, stretch their wings in flight.
Children need to make mistakes to learn
Their boy was no different, despite their concern
And while they wanted to save the boy from strife
All they accomplished was to insulate him from life.
