Miles and Miles

Nineteen thousand miles a day
I travel round this sphere
Spinning, spinning, my life away
Just to stay “Right Here”

Near seven million miles each year
Of spinning round and round
Any wonder that I should fear
Becoming too tightly wound?

Plus 585 Million more
I annually lap the sun
Any wonder that I am sore
And at times I come undone?

Then the 10-1/2 Billion miles the sun
Flies each solar year through space
Are far more steps I have to run
Just to stay within the race

And this, my fifty-sixth time around
The miles are high indeed
Wondering, I searched but haven’t found;
How good’s my warranty?
